Poston Butte High School Announcements
On 10-28-25, the Arizona Department of Education State Accountability Letter Grades were published for the FY2025 school year.
The state evaluates the school in many categories to calculate the grade. The areas include proficiency and growth in English, math and science, graduation rate, English learners, and college & career readiness.
Every year the staff at Poston Butte have had a goal to show constant improvement each school year to attain an "A" label. Every year the school points increased within the "B" letter grade range. It is with joy and excitement that I announce that yesterday the Arizona Department of Education recognized Poston Butte High School as an "A" rated school! The first time in school history!
Congratulations to all that has made this academic achievement possible. The staff at Poston Butte follow our school mission statement:
"At Poston Butte, our learning community provides an effective, student-centered, high-quality education, with a culture that fosters pride in our school & community."
Please join me in celebrating this wonderful achievement!
I am currently in process of ordering banners that will be displayed on our school building to let our community know that we are an "A" rated high school. We also already have on the next staff meeting agenda to review the state accountability results to see our strengths and weakness to see where we can improve. Our goal is to maintain the "A" label for years to come.
Thank you for allowing me to be the principal at Poston Butte for nine consecutive years now. This achievement is a team effort.
